[Jimmy Kort is ready for his Metro: PRO debut. He's got his bags all packed and he's waiting for the car service to pick him up from the ranch and drive him to the airport. He hates flying but it's necessary in the business so he sucks it up.]
Jimmy Kort:
Gracie Bell, there are only a few days till we have our match n' I gotta tell ya it seems like it's becomin' a two horse race.
[Kort nods his head. He's dressed casually for his flight. He's got on a pair of faded old Cowboy boots, that are a nightmare to take off at a TSA checkpoint. He's got a pair of blue jeans and a red and blue flannel shirt. It's cold on the ranch currently, but the farm hands are very busy this morning.]
Jimmy Kort:
Kodi Jackson, the Fat Bastard a' Metro: PRO ain't said much. And Vlad, well maybe he fell into a bottle a' that Russian Vodka, cause I ain't seen a damn thing he had to say about this match. That just leaves the burden a' this whole thing to the two of us, Gracie.
[Kort shrugs his shoulders.]
Jimmy Kort:
No skin off my back, suga. I'm gonna come with the fury. I'm gonna bring that pain. I'm gonna put an end to that impressive record you hold so near n' dear to your heart, Grace.
Believe that.
[Kort smirks.]
Jimmy Kort:
You ain't never been in a match with me before. You don't know what a motivated Jimmy Kort can do in that ring. All you're doin' Gracie is guess work. All you're doin' is what your Daddy wants you to do. What about what YOU want? What about YOUR dreams? Do they even matter a lick to you?
Head so far up your Daddy's ass you can't even chase your life. I know what it looks like Gracie, cause I've been there. I've been there indeed.
[Kort looks out the window at the road to make sure his car isn't coming.]
Jimmy Kort:
I followed my Daddy everywhere, tryin' to make up for lost time when I finally found him. Didn't stop him from puttin' my ass through a flamin' table. Didn't stop him from ruinin' my life. You think your old man is any different? You think he ain't usin' you? Don't fool yourself babe. Not for one second.
It's clear as day that you're content bein' your Daddy's pawn. You'd do anythin' he asked you too n' you wouldn't think twice. I gotta know, are you even real, suga? Is there a real workin' person in that body, Gracie Bell? Or are you just your ol' man through and through?
Me, I ain't no body's boy. I ain't the spittin' image a' anyone. I'm my own person, n' I pride myself on that every time I look into the mirror.
Realize.
[Kort's car is making it's way down the small dirt road that leads to the ranch.]
Jimmy Kort:
When people look back at Metro:PRO in five t' ten years, Gracie, when they look at this first show, what are they gonna see? They gonna see the owner's daughter makin' a stand for her Daddy, or are they gonna see a girl bust outta her shell?
I think they're gonna see what kind a' person your old man is. I mean who sends their daughter on an all expenses paid trip to the hospital? Who sends their daughter in with the infantry in a war for a company? Not anyone nice, that's for damn sure.
Takes a certain kind of person to do that, Gracie Bell. N' that type a' person is the man your Daddy really is. Believe that.
[No more, Kort has a flight to catch.]
