The scene opens up to show the inside of the Jacob Javits Convention Center. In the middle of the arena is Allyana, standing in the ring she’ll find herself in on Sunday. She spins around slowly looking at the vast amount of empty seats around her before turning to face the camera.
“You know, it seems to me like Morgan and Dennis have settled for wrestling. Morgan dreamed of a career as a magician with a sell-out show in Vegas. Dennis wanted to be in the world of hockey to become a key player in the NHL. I feel terrible for them to have not got what they wanted. I don’t know what that feels like; I’m living the dream I've had for as long as I can remember, as is Anya. The other two have chosen to be on Marty’s side; with his promises of stardom he’s the best chance they have to be able to live the lives they want. When wrestling for the joy of pure wrestling isn't enough, then I understand choosing Marty. Those guys are waiting for some great opportunity from Marty, whereas this is our great moment. Every part of us is focused on this match - nowhere else.”
Allyana once again looks around at the rows of chairs and smiles.
“Dennis and Morgan always want to put on a show for the fans; they love playing to the crowd. Don’t get me wrong, I think that’s fantastic! To be thinking everything through to make sure it’s entertaining each and every time - that takes a lot of time and thought. There is a downside though, while you guys are taking that extra time, Anya and I are going to be setting up our moves. That’s how we entertain. If you were up against slower people I think you would be unstoppable, but we’re just too fast. By the time you've shown off to the crowd, or chosen to do a more high risk move – which also means you’re likely to hurt yourself – we’re gone. I know my opponents may think I’m dull in my approach, but that the one I've always taken and the fans loved it. It’s also how I got my first title. I think their approach is a great one, but our's is one that I feel makes theirs vulnerable.
Speaking of approaches, I've come to learn that Dennis has a tendency to cheat. I understand it must be some sort of compulsion for him because I don’t think anyone would do that intentionally. That’s okay though, I’m prepared for that. Statistically, my in-ring intelligence is fantastic. I’ll spot anything underhanded he tries to do to us, or even the referee! I can stop him from doing something he’ll regret. It’s better to lose to honorably than to win by cheating.”
The young wrestler nods, convinced she’d be helping Dennis.
“I also figured I should have another strategy going into this. Aerial technique is what comes most naturally to me, and to all the others who’ll be in that ring. I’m not exaggerating when I say this is going to be one hell of a visual display! However, you've always got to have a plan B, or in my case ‘Plan S' - my submission. Don’t get me wrong, mine is by far the best on the roster, there are so many there that are amazing at it! All that matters though is that again, statistically, I’m better than my opponents. They aren't very good at applying submission, and even weaker when it comes to defending it. It’s always good to have a back-up plan, especially when you’re up against such as talented pair!”
Allyana takes in a deep breath and exhales. Her smile turns to a look of concern.
“Looking at all these seats and imagining the couple thousand fans that are going to be filling them gets me so excited! It feels like a lifetime since I was in front of a crowd and I am just desperate to get back there. Then I remember how badly Dennis handles it and I feel sorry for him. I know people hate to hear people feeling pity for them but I do. If it’s not bad enough that he’s prone to choking when it comes to the big matches, he’s also not so good with massive crowds. What’s bigger than a debut at a new company in a title tournament? Winning this means he’ll be in an even higher stake match, I can’t put the poor man through that.”
With that Allyana shakes her head and the camera feed stops.
