Flashback.
For the past several years, Will has acted as a trainer to other ambitious wrestlers hoping to break into the professional industry one day. He had always worked at the same gym, therefore gaining notoriety in the area for being one of the best. The dozens of students lined up just outside the ring, with Will standing in the ring in front of them.
Okay, so you're here today to basically... say goodbye to me & wish me the best in my ventures again. I have helped to train every single one of you in this very gym as your teacher -
He pointed to a certain person in the gym and shook his head.
- except you. I don't you. So before I leave Vegas - yes - this is the very place where it all began for me, I want you all to know that this time I'm not gonna disappoint. How can I ensure that? Well, this time, you're all going to help me. We know I've struggled in the past - there's been a lack of confidence or whatever - so I'm not going to say I need an ego boost as such but -
- okay, so how about you each take it in turns of shouting out one word you would use to describe me.
Silence.
Don't be afraid... anything... don't worry about getting harsh, I can take it. I'm out to prove I've grown a thicker skin and can handle this sort of shit.
Loser.
Bitch.
Delusional.
Pussy.
Will awkwardly nodded his head.
Okay, duly noted. And that was definitely not an ego boost... I know you meant all of that that out of respect though! I'm not gonna dwell on the past... that's the one thing I have promised that I'm not gonna do. Those are words that did once describe me. I appreciate the feedback. Thankfully, you awesome students and everyone else will see a new and improved William Levon. Cheers.
The students applauded, still on his side regardless of the joking around... it may have had some truth to it but it was all in good fun. Will made his way out of the ring and turned back to the camera that had been filming the scene and shrugged, offering a unperturbed expression.
That actually could have been worse...
The camera continued to follow him as he wandered up the stairs, letting out a quiet laugh.
Uh... harsh but I get it. And thankfully, I'm stepping away from those terms now and focusing on being a better person. I mean, I know these people well, we're all friends here so we're just messin'... but overall, I think they know as well that I have changed for the better and that it's time I go ahead and prove that to the rest of the world now and specifically to the Metro:PRO roster. A whole load of those people already know me... and probably don't think a whole lot about me... so it'll be nice to go in, change things up and not necessarily be overlooked as the guy who is just going to sabotage himself. In terms of my in-ring abilities, I can even say I've improved them tenfold as well.
I do know that I've got the toughest match I can imagine when I head over to New York... it's a debut match that I can't even fathom... I mean, Priscilla Price is a former IWA Women's Champion with a great win/loss record overall in her career. Ravyn Nightshade is a woman who hasn't held gold yet in her career but she is still an impressive athlete, when she's focused, and she's capable of causing some serious damage because of her background. Gideon Hazard... that's a new name to me but from what I've gathered, he's a man who means business and will do whatever it takes to get what he wants.
But why do I feel that heading to Metro:PRO and stepping away from this is a good move? Well, I've got more than enough experience in addition to a higher level of strength & even speed than you were used to seeing me possess before.
I mean no disrespect to the opposition. I know how great they are and of just how difficult they're going to endeavor to make things for me. I mean, I can lose without even being pinned so that's a tough concept but that's hardly anything new... I've been there before so I'm confident I'll overcome this too.
This is a show-stealing match due to the level of talent stepping into the ring, fighting it out for a very high honor. I'm gonna head to Metro:PRO and give my career another shot because that Empire title? I can't help but think it was designed for a guy like me...
