“What about the one on the water?”
Mama Rivera could be heard shouting out of shot. What we are greeted by is the smiling face of Allyana Rivera. She appears to be frustrated with her mother but is doing her best to hide it.
“No mama, nothing on water.”
Allyana turns her attention to her camera.
“This feels both strange and exciting for me. Back here, living out of a hotel room and speaking to the fans about my match. I couldn't be more ready to get back into it! To top it all off, I get to tag team with one of the best people I know – Anya-Leigh Castello. I can feel that it’s going to be an amazing ride of us, and it starts with this tag team tournament match.”
“Oh! What about the one with the disappearing Statue of Liberty?”
Allyana turns to the direction of the voice, struggling more and more to hide her exasperation.
“No mama, nothing with the Statue of Liberty.”
She turns back to the camera and shakes her head before continuing.
“I feel like Anya and I were made for this! We've known each other practically our entire professional wrestling career; we've also shared the ring together as both a team and opponents. This is going to feel so natural! I feel bad for our opponents, Dennis Driver and Morgan la Faye, this week; they don’t know how that feels, to be so in sync with their tag partner. It’s alright though, this will be their first ever match together, having a few bumps to smooth out is to be expected. I’m sure over time they’ll get to know each other and do really well! We have the edge this week though.
This match is a huge deal to us; both my title reign and her chance at that title got taken away from us when our last company closed. This time around we are determined to put that individual success together and be an amazing force as a team. This is our chance to win the first round and go on to win those tag titles! The other guys are really good, I can tell. The problem is Dennis isn't so good at handling these high stake matches. I totally understand it though; those massive crowds, all cheering and watching you while you strive to win a match that takes you just a few steps away from championship gold. Most people would be nervous! Fortunately, Anya and I aren't most people. I feel bad for him, that’s not a nice feeling for anyone.”
Once again Mama Rivera’s voice can be heard shouting through to Allyana.
“How about the one with bullet in mouth?”
The young wrestler puts her head in her hands as she shouts back through to her mother.
“No mama, nothing with bullets!”
Allyana takes a breath and continues talking into the camera.
“We are all high flyers, which is wonderful! We’re all going to be flying about that ring so gracefully. The thing is though, because of us all being up in the air, it’s going to be a long process to catch someone on the ground. That’s where my friend Morgan is going to have the disadvantage. Her stamina just isn't that great yet, she’ll tire quicker than the rest of us. It’s fine though, stamina is one of those things that come over time, and she’ll soon be able to keep up with the rest of us. Unfortunately for her, it won’t be in time for Sunday at Killshot.”
“Chop Cup?”
Allyana isn't really sure what her mother is talking about now but shakes her head anyway.
“What? No, not that either mama.”
She shrugs to the camera and continues one final time.
“Between Morgan’s inability to keep up and Dennis’ nervousness, I just don’t think this will be their week. That’s not the end of the world though; I just know they will go on to be great! Anya and I are just too determined and focused; we won’t allow this opportunity to slip through our fingers. Focus is another thing that they haven’t quite mastered yet. It must be hard to focus though when you’re thinking about your former NHL career, or your magic."
“What magic?”
Mama Rivera suddenly bursts into the shot.
“She no do any of the good things. No walking on water or catching bullet in teeth. What does she do?”
“She made a pen appear from under her hat to her hand! It was amazing!”
Allyana turns to her mother with a look of excitement Mama Rivera however, looks unimpressed and shakes her head.
“No good, mija. No good.”
