The City. New York.
Littered with towering concrete giants that seem to swallow up the sky.
They are silent, frozen, man-made guardians.
Below is where the city's heartbeat is.
People scurry about their business,
Oblivious to the crowds, the congestion, the pressure.
Yet, at times, some wish that they could rise above it all.

'Torment: Part One'
RISE ABOVE
My name is Lunar. By night my eyes scan the city, looking for those who have failed her, who have sullied her, who have betrayed her. She is under my protection and under my watchful gaze she will be safe and she will flourish. This city no longer needs to know fear.
In the heart of my city is a new arena, METRO Pro. A place where warriors gather some for fame, some for glory. Some come to act selflessly, and some have the most notorious of motivations. It is a kingdom ruled by two kings, by two men waving very different flags. I don't know if I can trust either one of them, but I know that my city must not suffer collateral damage from their war. She must be protected, and I am her protector.
And so I find myself now surrounded on all sides by all manner of warrior, both heroic and villainous. Hopefully, somewhere here in METRO, I will find allies to stand alongside as we together uphold all that is good and just, and while we protect the people of New York City from those who would manipulate Metro Pro to their own evil ends.
This is not a battle that can be won on the ground, in the trenches. The people of New York, the people of METRO Pro need a hero who can ascend, who can fly, who can rise above the fray and protect them from above. They need a hero like me to protect them and to deliver justice in the cold dark night.
