We open up inside the courtroom of the HONORABLE MARYANN ROURKE. Everyone in the courtroom is a little on edge, as two lawyers sit at counsel table, nervously awaiting a verdict. Only today, they sit at counsel table not on behalf of their clients, but on behalf of themselves.
This is the verdict in the matter of MORT GOODMAN VERSUS MARTY SUNSHINE, Docket No. BER-CIV-02-1483-98.
A juror, a weary, blue collar of a man, stands among his co-jurors, a note in his hand, from which he reads.

The looks on their faces say it all. Mort GOODMAN is smirking, but it is a gentleman's smirk-- he is pleased, but the sheer degree of his pleasure is professionally restrained.
On the other side of the table, MARTY SUNSHINE is not so pleased.
