The voice of Anya-Leigh Castello echoes through the darkness.
Submissions can be effective. Those who have crafted those skills deserve a lot of credit for the hard work they've put in. Submission holds can cause plenty of pain to an opponent and at the same time, the one locking in said hold can prove their technical abilities. Kudos, Priscilla on the effort you've put into learning those moves...
Her voice trailed out and was seemingly replaced by light, which shone down on that very woman as she stood against a brick wall somewhere outside.
... it's a shame you essentially undo all of that work by opting to voluntarily look weaker. After all, dirty moves can also be effective... if you choose to sink to that level, of course. I don't condone that behavior but a person can take advantage and therefore walk out with the win regardless. I, for one, would not be proud of myself if I was Priscilla or Angelina. Did they do well to outsmart their opponents? Sure... if you wish to see it that way, then yes. Otherwise, no... they've not proven a damn thing other than they're not really willing to fight for what they want. They wish to cheat their way to the top and that's just not admirable or a true way of proving oneself. I would much rather show off the hard work I put into learning the true technical aspects of this business.
Anya-Leigh shrugged her shoulders.
You see, from the very start, myself and Allyana always had the ambition and dreams of becoming the Metro:PRO Tag Team Champions. Priscilla initially came here to chase some singles gold and I'm confident the same even goes for Angelina. Those tag titles are our passion... we're not here to try everything and hope something works. We have a plan and we're sticking to it.
Trust me, myself and Allyana are smart enough to know what we are up against... two women who seem like polar opposites initially but will pretend to get along so that they're not called on the lack of ability to gel as a team. These same two women also lack experience and lack everything that is necessary to be a winner. Priscilla can't rely solely on dirty tactics or submission holds, for example... you need far more than that to get through a match. I mean, I don't just pride myself on aerial tactics. Sure, that's what I excel in but I'm also ring smart, mentally strong with great composure and I'm fast... too fast for some to keep up with. Whilst I may not necessarily be the most technically advanced athlete or one who can handle submission holds all too well but I have many redeeming qualities... more so than the opposition.
Priscilla and Angelina, I can't fault your performance as a team from last week, necessarily... but do you plan on cheating and taking the easy way out every week or was that just a one off? Just in case you do prove yourselves to be insecure and therefore cowardly, then at least the two of us will be prepared. We've seen what crooked moves you could potentially pull out of the bag but myself and Allyana are certainly smart enough to ensure that none of that slips by either of us! We've got experience of dealing with women like you so it will hardly be a surprise to us if you do well, what is expected! How about the two of you try to out-wrestle us or even out-run us? Try something new... otherwise you'll end up becoming nothing more than 'that team of low-life cheaters', y'know? That's not a moniker you'd like to have, would you? It's great to sort of have an identity... a brand of sorts... but being known as rogue team with nothing more than cheap moves, a few submission holds and a distinct lack of communication... is that what you ladies really want? Take pride in it, if you wish but myself and Allyana will be doing our own thing...
... and what is that? It's not just being the 'nice girls' or being the 'high-flyers'. We're much more than that. We're smarter than we get credit for. After all, we're fast learners so while we are technically rookies, we are learning as we go and proving what we learn when we step into the ring every week. The best way to gain experience is by doing something so it's matches like this that challenge us but we can overcome challenges because we are a real team... one that knows what they are doing... what they want... and how to work together.
With that, she took a step back and essentially disappeared back into the darkness as she the scene fades.
