First of all I want to congratulate my previous opponent, Aura Williams, for a well deserved victory at the previous Kill Shot.
Surprised?
You shouldn’t be. I am man enough to admit when I have been beaten by the better wrestler. On that night, she was the better wrestler. She got the job done against the odds. And for that, I applaud her and wish her well on her journey through the tournament. I am convinced that she can go far, if not win it if things go her way. And while I did not make history like I hoped to, I know there will be more opportunities for me down the road, and perhaps our paths will cross again.
Now onto business!
So this week I have the honour of opening the show for the second time in three weeks. The last time I opened the show I made history by wrestling and winning the first match in Metro:Pro. The last time my opponent and I put on a hell of a match - arguably one of the matches of the night. And this week, I am posed with the same task. Opening the show and warming up the fans for the rest of the roster. Is it what I want to do? No. I still want to be in the tournament, but alas, that isn’t the case. I have come to terms with that, and the best way to show that I have moved on is to go down to that ring and beat my opponent like a dog. Make an example of them, and prove to the entire company that I can bounce back.
And that’s where you come in Kaiden. This week you have the unfortunate honour of facing me this week. It will be one of the highlights in your young career. After all, you are facing a multiple time world champion. A guy that has been in the main event, on big shows, in some of the grandest arenas in the world. I have headlined the Sky dome in Toronto, Canada. I have headlined the Tokyo Dome. I have headlined Madison Square Garden. That’s who you are facing this week, Kaiden, the veteran that has been to the top and got the job done. And this week, I intend to give you the biggest learning experience of your young career. After all, mate, I am all about giving back to the business that has given me so much...
And give back I will!
Now Kaiden, I know that you have youth on your side. You don’t have much scar tissue. You are new to the scene, and that gives you an advantage over me. Why? Because I have scar tissue, mentally and physically. I have suffered many defeats through the years. I have suffered many beatings through the years. I have lost count of the amount of times I have suffered concussions, been busted open, or woken up in hospital beds. And at the end of the day, that is what gives YOU the advantage this week. You have youth on your side. You don’t fear anyone, or anything, because you don’t know any better. And that is the advantage you have when you step into the ring with me this week, because no matter what I say, no matter what I do, you will go into this match believing that you can win and you won’t know what has hit you until it hits you...
Because while you have the advantage of youth, I have the advantage of being the better athlete and wrestler. Fact is, I am faster than you, more agile than you, and I can last longer than you despite being a decade older. I am an elite athlete, and when you combine that with my elite wrestling skills, then you have a HUGE problem on your hands when you step into the ring with me.
What am I going to do?
Well... I am going to outwrestle you. I am going to outfight. I am going to out think you. Basically, I am going to run rings around you both physically and mentally.
Now I appreciate that you are not going to believe me. You are going to call me a liar. You are going to cover your hears and pretend that you cannot hear me. You are going to burry your head in the sand, and that it doesn’t matter what I say because I lost last week. I get it. But what you need to realise, mate, is that I am coming for you this week and there is nothing that is going to stop me from tearing you apart... piece by piece...
