int. marty sunshine, esq's office in new york city
The scene opens inside a tall high rise in New York City where the headquarters for
MetroPro Wrestling are. Inhabiting the skyscraper is several things that make Metro
go 'round. From production to training and everywhere in between as well as the
offices of Mort Goodman, Esq. and Marty Sunshine, Esq. We're taken to the ground
floor where the two superstars being focused on today, Alice St. James and Kaiden
Hawke, are seen entering a grand elevator. Things are very quiet between the two,
which raises a few questions. Alice turns to Kaiden, sighing softly. She's clad in a black
blazer with a charcoal grey cotton v-neck beneath it and a pair of light wash skinny
jeans with black pumps. Kaiden, on the other hand, is dressed in a button downed suit
jacket with a tan band shirt underneath, black jeans to complete the attire with his
hands tucked away in his pockets, humming along with the elevator music to Alice’s
irritation.

❝Why are you so happy?❞

❝Are you kidding? Why wouldn’t I be? We’ve wrestled one match
and this might just be our catapult towards the top already. You can’t
say that doesn’t excite you, even a little bit.❞
Crossing her arms in front of her chest, she quirks a brow in his direction, then
moistening her lips.
a l i c e ★ s t . j a m e s
❝It really doesn’t. I can honestly say that it doesn’t excite me in the
least. As a matter of fact, I’m only here because you practically begged
me to be here. I’m going in with an open mind, but like I said, I make
no promises. Honestly, I’m counting on just telling him no to whatever
it is that he’s going to propose.❞
Kaiden looked to his feet, shaking his head back and forth while he leaned against
the back wall.

❝At least give a damn enough to open your ears and listen to most
of it. Who knows? He could be the nicest guy around. Maybe his team
comes with free dental insurance, and in this sport? That’s something
we might need.❞
She rolls her eyes, letting her arms fall to her sides just as the elevator doors open
on the level that Marty Sunshine’s office just so happens to be located on. Without
waiting for Kaiden to exit the elevator, Alice pushes past him with a bit of frustration
visible in her expression. As the two head out of the elevator, a large common area
is seen with a receptionist’s desk that the two make their first stop at.

❝Hey. Kaiden Hawke, this is Alice St. James. We’re here for an
appointment we made for 10 o’clock?❞
It was obvious they were late by a mere ten minutes according to the clock on the
wall behind them, an annoyed expression on Kaiden’s face as he glances at it. The
receptionist presses a button on her monitor and speaks into the embedded
microphone after hearing his simple request.

❝Mr. Sunshine? Kaiden Hawke and Alice St. James are ready to
see you now.❞
Time pauses for a few moments as they await a response from the man of the hour.

❝Bring them in.❞
Alice glances at Kaiden for a split second before she takes a deep breath, taking the
first step in the direction that Sara ushers them to go in for Marty’s office. She tells
them it’s the last door at the end of the hall. The two head down the hall where they
stop in front of a large door reading “MARTY SUNSHINE, ESQ” in gold letters, knocking
lightly.

❝Door’s open!❞
As soon as the co-owner of Metro:Pro announces that the door is open, Kaiden turns
the doorknob and swings it open, Alice following shortly behind. They take their spots
on the opposite side of the desk from Marty, sitting down in fairly comfortable chairs,
a creek lets out once Kaiden’s weight falls onto the chair.

❝Ah, yes… Just the people I wanted to see. Did you two find
the place okay? Would you like anything to drink?❞
Alice shakes her head. Kaiden opens his mouth to speak, but Alice shushes him before
a single word leaves his mouth.

❝Mr. Sunshine, with all due respect, you and I both know
that you didn't ask us here just to offer us something to drink,
now did you?❞
m a r t y ★ s u n s h i n e
❝Straight, right to the point kind of girl, aren't you? That's
alright. I like that in my talent. Well, since you and I both are
aware that there's another reason that I called you two here,
more specifically you— Alice... Then I might as well just get on
with it. I want you two working for Team Marty.❞
Without missing a beat, Alice shakes her head.
a l i c e ★ s t . j a m e s
❝No. Absolutely not. I simply won't.❞
Kaiden goes silent, looking down at his lap.
m a r t y ★ s u n s h i n e
❝Surely Kaiden has his own opinions...❞
k a i d e n ★ h a w k e
❝I... Alice, you said you'd listen to what he has to say.❞
Alice grits her teeth, flaring nostrils, but maintains her composure long enough to nod
her head in signal for Marty to speak again.
m a r t y ★ s u n s h i n e
❝Alice, I don't see the need for all the hostility, really. I'm
trying to help you here. I'm willing to give you anything you
want. All you have to do? Give yourself over to Team Marty,
leaving Team Mort. It's not a huge issue. Believe me.❞
a l i c e ★ s t . j a m e s
❝You know... I did say I'd listen to you today. I promised Kaiden
that I would come in with a completely open mind and that's
what I'm doing right now, but I have to know, Mr. Sunshine...
What's the sudden urge for us to be on your team? Kaiden and
I are both rookies that haven't even won a match in Metro yet.
What makes us so special that you have to have us?❞
Marty chuckles, but Alice is firm in her tone. She looks over at Kaiden, who is still peering
down at his lap. After Alice finishes her sentence, however, Kaiden looks up, almost as if
he were waiting for that special answer to make or break his own decision.

❝Last week, you spoke of heart. You said you had the passion for
this business that gave you the drive to do what you do. You said
that while you weren't necessarily technically skilled, you had the
necessary heart, passion, and drive to get you where you needed
to go. I like to think of Alice St. James and Kaiden Hawke on Team
Marty as an experiment. While all the other wrestlers on my team
are technically gifted maybe it's time to give those who may not
be so skilled a chance to shine. I'm giving you your chance. You
can either take it or leave it. Your choice.❞
Alice looks down at her feet as Kaiden smiles.
k a i d e n ★ h a w k e
❝Alice... You heard the man. He's telling you the absolute opposite
of everything you said he would say. Doesn't that tell you something?
He's not just lying and laying out slander to get us on his team. C'mon,
what do you say?❞
She thinks for a moment before standing up from her chair.
a l i c e ★ s t . j a m e s
❝I say no. I apologize, Mr. Sunshine, but my loyalty lies with Team Mort
and loyalty is the biggest thing to me. I don't break the ties that I lay
loyal with. Get someone else to fill the position.❞
With that being said, Alice opens the door to his office, slowly and calmly exiting the room.
Kaiden stands from his chair as well, looking up at Marty. He takes a breath before speaking.
k a i d e n ★ h a w k e
❝Hey... Don't count me out just yet... I'll be in touch.❞
Marty smirks as Kaiden exits the office and the scene fades.
