"I'm a magician first, Lava"
It's a telling statement.
One reflected not only in Morgan's attitude,
But in the skill measures revealed by the MetroPRO Combine.
A magician. A trickster. A charlatan.
A fake.
Not a fighter, regardless of anything else.
Now, she has to face one, one-on-one.
A fighter, and a conscious one at that.
Tall order for someone who, by their own admission,
Really doesn't belong in the fight game any more than I belong on a stage in Vegas.
How are you going to trick someone, Morgan,
Who inside the confines of that ring is your vast intellectual superior?
Oh, I forgot, you're in denial about that fact.
How are you going to hurt someone with a chin so much greater,
Than either your strength or the power behind any of your strikes.
Oh, I forgot, you're in denial about that fact too.
How are you going to outmaneuver someone,
Who's skills as a technical combat athlete dwarf your own abilities as a fighter?
Oh, I forgot, you're in denial about that one as well.
In fact, the only concession that you will make,
Is the most obvious one.
That I'm stronger than you.
And Morgan?
I AM stronger than you.
And yes, you're fast. Yes, you're agile.
You have raw speed and a fearlessness, a willingness to cast your body to the air.
But with little experience, technique, striking power or combat intelligence,
That's exactly what you're doing...
Haphazardly throwing your body at your opponent,
Like some skill-less backyard wrestler all hopped up on Jolt Cola.
It's amazing you don't do more damage to yourself than to your opponents, frankly.
William Levon was equally reckless, but at least had the technical ability to back it up.
I'm smart enough to counter what you bring to the table, Morgan,
While you're not even smart enough to recognize what it is that I bring.
If all you see is my superior strength,
Then you've inhaled too much magic pixie dust,
And you're a danger to yourself just by being here.
Lets take a look at what we've accomplished here in Metro, shall we?
At KillShot #1 you lost in a tag-team match.
That same night I outsmarted the smartest man in MetroPro,
Forcing him to make a rookie mistake & get counted out.
At KillShot #2 you locked a submission hold onto an unconscious man,
While I did the same to a very conscious opponent,
One with the same strengths as you,
But also with the technical abilities to back up his speed & agility.
That's not spin or hype, Morgan.
It's not razzle-dazzle or slight-of-hand.
Those are the facts, plain and simple.
Because that's what I deal in, cold hard truths.
Not lying to people, honestly or otherwise.
But when you tell me that you're confident, Morgan,
Know that I believe you.
It's a confidence born of ignorance,
Truthfully the most common kind.
But to you, it's confidence nonetheless.
I know I can beat you.
Know it with a confidence born of hard work, determination and experience.
I know it because I've been a professional fighter for years,
And I know well exactly what my strengths and weaknesses are.
I have one weakness you could have exploited,
But you vowed your MetroPRO career that you wouldn't do it.
You'd better hope that Mr. Sunshine is on board with that promise you made,
Otherwise me beating you might just be the least of your worries.
I have to win this match.
Not just because of the Pure Championship, although that's part of it.
No, it has to do with the fact that standing on the other side of it,
Standing behind you, Morgan,
Are the first and only two women that I've called out here in MetroPro.
Smalls and Nightshade.
Barring what could happen if Smalls carries out here threat to walk from Metro,
One of those two will be waiting for me in the finals.
I singled out Nightshade when I signed my contract,
I singled out Smalls the very next day.
Nightshade I want because she is a worthy foe.
Our skills match up where our attitudes don't.
A match between her & I, with a title on the line,
Would be the stuff that pro-wrestling legends are made of.
Smalls I want because I detest everything she is.
The message & the example she sends out to young women and girls,
It's everything I stand against, everything I repudiate.
A match between her & I would be an execution,
But it would be an execution that the wrestling world needs.
That's what's at stake, Morgan.
And that, combined with the imbalance in our skill-sets,
Is why you are going to lose come KillShot.
And Blaine, Copperfield & Angel won't be able to save you.
