Morgan, sans top hat, stands on top of a white van, making sure her booking information is on full display. She isn't smiling; in fact she is frowning with her arms crossed.
“In some ways, I find it funny how Lava thinks so highly of herself when compared to me. It’s funny how she thinks that somehow I’m not on her level just because she can lift more than I can. We’re not that far apart in terms of physicality, sweetheart, we just apply it in different ways. It takes just as much strength, if not more, to fight in the way I do. It’s not easy, despite me making it look so. If it was easy, you could do it, Lava. But you can’t. You can’t do what I do and I can’t get you in a submission hold.”
“But that’s fine, that’s not what I have to do. See, that’s the big mistake your recent opponent made. He stooped to your level when he should’ve kept up the unorthodox, hit and run tactics. But in the exact moment Levon decided to beat you at your own game, it bit him in the ass. Me? I’m not going to give you that luxury. I’m smart enough to play to my strengths. That’s a key component in both the magical world and the wrestling world."
“I’ll be honest with you, I’m not happy with my singles debut. It was hardly the showstopping spectacle it should’ve been. But I get it. Sunshine wants insurance. If it were up to me, I’d strike that win from the record. In fact, I consider you, Lava, my first singles match opponent. If we’re going by pure records, I’m one and one to your two up. But come on, how can you really be happy at the result of your debut match? I’ve not even spoken to you in PERSON and I know you’re a woman with pride. With honor. But maybe that stupid code of honor you follow allows for technical victories.”
“Too bad it didn’t allow for a victory in that Pride company you’re a member of. Yeah, I ordered that PPV. I had to see if I would win my little bet. I didn’t, by the way, thanks for that, Liz.”
“You say that I’m outclassed, that my only hope of victory is underhanded tactics. You’re wrong. I’m a magician, Lava, we pride ourselves on lying to people for a living, but doing so honestly. You may have faced someone who can move, but you’ve not faced someone who can REALLY zip around. You may think magic is unreal, but you haven’t seen how fast I can go; it’s almost like teleportation. And you can’t hurt what you can’t catch. Or what you can’t see coming. You’ll blink and I’m gone. But say you catch me, what will you do? Hit me? You might be stronger than me, but I’m tougher. I can take a hit. Years of dealing with unruly children has hardened me better than any training regimen.”
“People will say that all I have is speed. A one trick magician is no magician. See, I’ve never really had a chance to show what I can do. My first match had my partner do most of the work, the showboat he was, and my second match was…well unfair. So you’re lucky, Lava, you get to be the first to see me at my peak. The first to see that there’s more up my sleeve than aces and paper flowers.”
“Funny you mention the stakes. I mean, lose here and what happens to you, Lava? You lose your shot at the Pure Championship. This is one away from the finals, the big leagues. Do you feel that lump in your throat? That’s pressure. How does it feel? Because I feel nothing but confidence. That’s a trick there. I’m used to these big things, these do-or-die situations because that’s the life of a performer. Can you see all the eyes on your back, watching and waiting for your fall from grace? The death from above named Morgan? Because it won’t matter how strong you are, when a body falls fast and from great height…whoever is landed on is going to be hurt.”
Morgan jumps down from the top of her van, landing on the grass, grinning.
“And my body is going to hurt you, Lava. Over and over again. And when you’re too tired to continue and I win…that will be magical. ZVARRI!"
