DO YOU BELIEVE IN MAGIC?
VIA: Posted to Lava's Wordpress blog.
Let me ask you an honest question, Morgan.
Are you proud of that?
Because while I must congratulate you,
On what is surely the fastest victory in Metro history,
Not even you can take any pride in that victory, can you?
I assure you, you won't be fighting a corpse this week, Magi.
So far, I've faced both an opponent who was my equal,
And one who was my exact opposite.
And I've beaten them both.
However, I've never faced an opponent who,
In so far as the MetroPRO Statistics are concerned,
I outweigh so clearly across the board.
Like Levon, she is faster & more agile,
I am stronger, hit harder & dominate in every technical aspect.
Everything else is close to equal.
Speed & agility are great.
They allow for style points, they excite the fans,
But neither really lend themselves to finishing fights.
In every measure that counts towards putting an opponent away,
I dominate.
On paper, this isn't even a fight, it's a slaughter.
And that really sums up Morgan le Faye, the magician.
Because here in the real world, we know that magic isn't real.
We understand that it's trickery, that it's all style, no substance.
Much like what Morgan does in that ring.
Yes, your speed & agility can be used to play 'keep away', it's true.
William Levon demonstrated that effectively enough this past week.
But even he realized that eventually he had to come in and fight me,
Lest we simply run around in circles all day.
You're stuck in the same position, Morgan.
But there is one major difference between you and Levon.
I guess it's fitting that you're my first opponent from Team Sunshine,
And also the first willing to cheat to win a fight.
The stakes don't get any higher, Morgan.
And the numbers don't lie.
If you want to make it to the Finals,
It seems like cheating is your only real option to do it.
Ironic, isn't it.
We're in contention for the MetroPRO Pure Championship, you and I.
It's so close, we can taste it.
But how much credibility can a 'Pure' championship have,
If the champion holding it has none as a true fighter?
Up until now,
The fact that I really don't have eyes in the back of my head,
Well, it really hasn't mattered here in MetroPRO.
Because while I've said what I've had to say about Alexander & Levon,
And while I did what I had to do in that ring to beat both of them,
I knew deep down that they were warriors, men of honor.
And they knew that same code of honor lived in my heart as well.
I have no such luxury with you, Morgan.
Faced with an opponent who outclasses you on so many fronts,
Your options for victory so abysmally few,
You have no real choice.
And even if you did, there is only one that Mr. Sunshine would allow you to make.
Because the fact is, Morgan, that I'm too smart inside that ring,
To fall for any trickery that you can conjure up yourself.
And I've already proven that speed and agility alone won't be enough.
The only weapon you have left is one that your boss will be happy to provide.
You're going to have to bring someone else along.
It's perfect, really.
Everyone knows that my single-minded focus on an opponent,
Is as the same time one of my greatest strengths,
And also my greatest weakness in the hands of one willing to exploit it.
You've already proven that you are honorless,
So I know that you'll have no qualms about what you have to do.
The only question is, who will Sunshine send?
It doesn't matter.
Because no matter how it plays out, I win.
If you and Sunshine do what you know that you'll have to do to beat me,
And if the refs don't catch it,
Then I will lose.
And in the grand scheme of things, so will you.
Sure, you'll advance,
And maybe even go on to win the Pure Championship.
But there will be nothing pure about your victory, your reign.
Nothing pure about you.
And everyone will know it.
Up until now, I've been lucky in one way.
My opponents have been teammates, people whom I respect.
Now, for the first time, I face a foe,
And for the first time, I see a possible road to defeat.
But it's a road me and my allies would never walk,
And knowing that gives me strength.
I've only faced teammates up until now, and beat them both.
Imagine how motivated I am now, facing my enemy.
I just have to beat you quick,
Before your schemes can come to fruition.
