We tune in to an undisclosed garage where a game of cards is being played. The players include Marty Sunshine’s arbitrator Tony Pham, Ravyn Nightshade’s friend Zack, and Weston Alexander along with other unknown individuals. They seem to have paid the ante as the flop is produced on the table.
Tony: What say you, Weston?
Tony takes a sip of his Corona as Weston’s face remains cold. Weston notes this and looks to Zack. For a moment, Zack’s finger twitches slightly as he looks at his cards. One of the friends runs his fingers through his hair as another inhales deeply.
Weston: Fold.
Tony: Already?
Weston: I already know who’s winning the hand unless something drastic changes.
Tony: Clever, huh? Here’s a slip of paper. Write the name down and flip it.
Weston: Very well.
Weston quickly scribbles something on the piece of paper and folds it up. The turn card comes out as Zack and another of the men fold. The river comes out as Tony flashes a very brief, almost undetectable smile.
Tony: $300.
Friend #1: Raise $200.
Friend #2: Fold.
Tony: Call.
The cards flip and Tony wins with a full house, Kings and 7s. The man who raised flips to show 3 of a kind, 10s. Tony looks at Weston.
Tony: Let’s see that paper.
Weston unfolds the paper to reveal Tony’s name.
Tony: Good guess.
Tony smirks at Weston, amused. Weston shuffles the cards as Tony collects the pot. Weston then deals two cards to each player in rapid succession. One of the cards zings uncharacteristically off the table as Weston’s attention is averted…
Ravyn Nightshade enters the back room and looks quite impressed with the actions going on. Wearing a sexy all-black ensemble of a leather jacket, dress and knee high stiletto heeled boots, she walks over to Zack and runs her fingers through his hair and gives him a little kiss on the cheek.
Ravyn: Wow. Don’t you guys work? (giggles) How’s things, love?
Zack: Other than Roto-Rooter Tony here staging an effective cleanout, things are good.
Zack turns to Ravyn to admire how she’s filling in well in her outfit, more than enough to get him not to care about the game.
Zack: But things are definitely looking up right about now.
Ravyn gives Zack a smirk, knowing exactly what he’s thinking about which, when it comes to her, isn’t very hard to decipher.
Ravyn: I bet it is.
Ravyn playfully shoves Zack away and turns her attention towards Tony.
Ravyn: You’re quite a shark, Tony. Don’t you feel worried about “tainting your image”? Wait a second, you’re around that sleazy slug Marty so I guess that warrants you some kind of mulligan.
Tony: Image isn’t everything, baby. If you want to please, sometimes you bring a little sleaze. Why don’t you pull up a chair and join us?
Weston, who had finished dealing, seems too concentrated on his cards and is doing a terrible job acting as if he’s not paying any attention.
Ravyn: Not tonight. I have a business meeting in the morning and get in some time training to crush this bloke this weekend.
Zack: You know you’re gonna take ‘em, girl.
Ravyn reaches over to Zack and caresses the back of his neck with her hand.
Ravyn: You’re so full of it...but you never can be any more right, love.
Ravyn playfully slaps him in the neck. Zack rubs his neck and smiles while the guys in the room voice out in laughter.
Ravyn: You guys enjoy your game. See ya.
Ravyn turns and begins to leave the room. As she steps outside the garage and begins to depart, a voice sounds from behind her.
Voice: Beautiful night, isn’t it?
Ravyn turns around to see Weston standing just outside of the garage. He is looking into the night sky briefly before locking eyes with Ravyn.
Weston: My apologies, you probably have have no idea who I am, or you believe you know me from somewhere and cannot place it. My name is Weston Alexander. I was in IWA briefly before its demise and am now a fellow competitor in Metro:PRO. It is truly a pleasure to officially meet you at last.
Ravyn takes a moment to inspect the ruggedly handsome gentleman. She doesn’t looks too impressed by him at first sight. But that didn’t stop her from giving him some kind of attention.
Ravyn: Yeah, I have seen you around. You run by some kind of nickname. What is it…
Ravyn looks up and taps her finger upon her chin as she goes into thought. Before long, she snaps her fingers and brings her attention back to Weston.
Ravyn: That’s right! You go by “The Intellectual”. But not for nothing, love, for someone who calls himself “The Intellectual”...not really smart in surprising me like that. You may have found yourself flipped over and slamming onto the concrete hard with my foot firmly planted on your neck.
Ravyn facial expression to Weston shows one of a seriousness nature, letting him know that she wasn’t bluffing. After a while, she warms up and gives a little smile.
Ravyn: However, you seem like a cool guy so I’ll give you a slide tonight. Pleasure to meet you too.
Ravyn extends her hand out to Weston, waiting for him to shake it. Weston takes her hand, leans down and gently kisses it.
Weston: A woman of your beauty and submission mastery is difficult to come by. You are the rare combination of beauty and capability that comes by perhaps once in a lifetime.
Weston flashes a charming smile. Ravyn looks at him and gives a smile of her own, although she tries to hold in the laughter.. at least so he couldn’t notice.
Ravyn: Why thank you, Weston. Sounds a little cheesy for my taste. But I like it. A little...charming.
Weston nods in acknowledgement.
Weston: I can see that you aren’t much in the way of small talk. I’m not a romantic myself and I’m sure you’d much rather I get to the point. I’m not the boyfriend or husband type. You strike me as a person who is looking for neither. However, we all have certain biological needs. Through my studies, I have developed skills that will certainly prove valuable to you in this forum and I’m certain you would be more than capable of satisfying mine. I believe that we could be mutually beneficial to one another. What do you think?
Ravyn is taken aback by Weston’s comment. She seems quite surprised with his presentation. Not exactly your normal running of a pick-up line in her view.
Ravyn: Color me surprised here. This is not one of those “getting to know you” kinds of chit-chat love. Are you always this forward?
Weston: Absolutely. I don’t appreciate when my time is wasted and I’m fairly certain you share that sentiment.
Ravyn: Pretty much so. Usually the men I talk to are bravado driven drongos who eventually become scared little rabbits when they deal with me. Must be an American thing. Anyway, I don’t see that in you. That is unless you’re really hiding it really well.
Weston: Afraid of you? No. Then again, I’m not certain that I understand the concept of fear. I do not recall ever feeling this sensation as it has been described to me. Perhaps I do fear you, though I have no way of knowing.
Ravyn nods her head in interest.
Ravyn: Well, you don’t need to be afraid of me. I am quite the intimidator I must admit. But I am curious as to why you would have such an interest in me? Let alone thinking that I would ever accept it or you?
Weston: I believe that the saying I’ve heard is that “you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.” Additionally, I’m sure you own a mirror. That being said, it should be no surprise that I have such an interest in you. As far as whether or not you accept it, I suppose that’s what this conversation is to determine.
Ravyn smiles while placing some of her stray hair behind her ear.
Ravyn: Everyone wants me, Weston. They want me to choose my path. You, Mort (Goodman), Marty (Sunshine), everyone. I know what my path is. I am capable of taking MetroPRO Wrestling and making it the hottest wrestling organization in the country...maybe even the world. And that makes me a valuable asset to anyone who acquires me.
Ravyn takes a few steps away from Weston and turns to him.
Ravyn: My ambitions are very high, Weston. And those who associate with me are on the same page with me because they know what I bring to the table and how much of a force I can be, other than those two “politicians” running the company now.
Weston: Mort seems a bit… old, and I’m not certain, but I believe Marty is also Ronald McDonald minus the makeup. As for your path, I have no interest in altering it. I only offer to make it more worthwhile and enjoyable.
Ravyn advances toward Weston once more, still keeping her eyes locked on to him.
Ravyn: You seem very sure of yourself, Weston and I find your offer to be quite intriguing. And if there is any decision coming from me, you don’t have to look for me…
She then reaches out and caresses the side of Weston’s face, making sure that he is looking directly at her.
Ravyn: I’ll find you.
Weston’s eyes close briefly as her hand brushes against his cheek. He takes a deep breath before opening them.
Ravyn: You have a nice evening, ok love?
Ravyn gives Weston a seductive smile and then turns to head towards her sleek, 2014 Crystal Red Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. Weston watches her walk away with a compulsive smile on his face. As she climbs into her vehicle, starts it, and drives away, Weston looks back at the garage.
Weston: I can’t continue playing with these gentlemen.
Weston shakes his head.
Weston: Not while Ravyn holds all of the cards.
Weston turns from the garage and also departs. Fade to black.
