Allyana is in her hotel room. She sits perched on chair, staring down the lens of the camera.
“I’m not going to lie, when Marty told Anya and I what our match was going to be this week, of course I wasn't happy. Do I want to be pitted against my tag team partner, my friend? Of course not. However, as well as those things, we’re both wrestlers and do whatever is asked of us. So yes, Anya and I will go forward with this match despite how uncomfortable it may be - and the protesting from mama.”
Allyana looks down to her lap which is out of shot therefore, it is not clear what she is looking at.
“It won’t be the first time we have faced each other. In our last company together it happened, and we put our friendship aside to do what we had to do. In fact, before the company came to a close we were only a couple of weeks away from facing each other for this.”
The young wrestler picks up the item from her lap and shows it to the camera. It is her Force 1 Wrestling Woman’s Championship belt.
“For most people, such competition takes over them and destroys what friendship they had or may have had – not for us. Most people resort to picking apart their opponent. They attack their weaknesses and declare why they are the better competitor, all in the hope that in the end they can go back to how they were before. More often than not it’s not like that. What may start out as ‘just business’ soon becomes personal. They can pretend that those things that were said get left behind, but you never forget.
I’m not going to do that for a multitude of reasons. The most important one being that I don’t believe I am better than Anya. I also don’t believe she is better than me. I believe that we are both great athletes and what the fans are going to see on Sunday is an amazing match.”
Allyana smiles at the thought of it.
“Anya and I are both great in the air, there’s no denying that. There’s no doubt that our match will be the most visually appealing on the card. Add our spectacular speed to that and you’re going to have one of the most quickly paced matches too. Marty likes to regard himself as the man focused on the entertainment side, and in creating this match he’s showing that just because we believe in Mort’s pure wrestling side of things, doesn't mean it won’t be entertaining. I’m not quite sure that was his agenda though – it’s funny how things work out.”
Allyana shrugs with a smile.
“Anya is miles better than me at sustaining knock out shots, which isn't difficult considering I’m terrible at it. That’s going to bode amazingly well for her if she manages to hit me just right with that ‘Last Sunrise’ of hers. Sure, my in ring intelligence is regarded as better so I’m great at reading my opponents and spotting what’s coming. It’s not something that’s going to define the winner of this match though. I know Anya, she’s just as passionate and focused as I am, and that means we’re going to put on one heck of a show! Regardless of who wins, it won’t matter. We’ll each congratulate one another and look forward to whatever match awaits us next week. It’s not going to break us down, and it’s certainly not going to work in Marty’s favor.”
Allyana slowly shakes her head.
“You know what this match will do? It will give us an even better understanding of each other and our own individual strengths and weaknesses. When we come together as a team again we’ll know what each of us bring to the table, and can push forward in that tag title tournament.
I’m a little nervous going into this, only because I can’t call who’ll win this one. Then I remember that it’s win/win really. If I win? Then great, another win in this fantastic company. If Anya wins? Amazing, I've got that incredible talent as a tag partner.”
Allyana isn't showing any signs of being apprehensive about the match.
“I can’t guarantee who’ll win, I can’t guarantee Marty won’t come out at the end of it with another twist, I can guarantee is that it’s going to be a showcase of our talent. It's also going to show Marty that it takes more than this to rattle us."
