A count out loss is... Interesting. I suppose thus is the nature of this business, however. This match was well on its way to being the match of the night but instead, it is mired by a rather disappointing ending. I'm not exactly accustomed to losing but I'm also not used to rules that implicate you if you spend ten seconds outside of the ring. Congratulations on your victory, Lava. I see that you're as disappointed as I am that the outcome was decided in such a way. We'll definitely see each other again. I look forward to it.
As everyone knows, I'm now out of the hunt for the Pure Wrestling Championship. Mort Goldman advised me that losing via count out doesn't mean anything - in his own language of course - and I tend to agree but likely for an entirely different reason. In wrestling, the better competitor wins. With all due respect to Lava, she and I along with everyone else didn't get to find out exactly who that is. Don't misunderstand me, I know the rules of this profession. I knew that a count out was possible. I'm only isolating this rule as I believe that everyone was robbed of a phenomenal match with a decisive outcome.
Meanwhile, I will be going from a match where you lose by staying outside of the ring too long to winning if you can get outside of the ring. This feels like cruel irony. However, where many would see disappointment and consolation, I see opportunity. The press release on the title indicates that one of the necessary qualities is a rockstar attitude. I was hazy on the term as it didn't seem logical that one be a musician to win a wrestling title but, after a quick Google search, I was able to gain some clarity on the seemingly popular term in its abstract usage.
Rock Star. The word brings up all sorts of connotations: a performer, a celebrity, someone with drive or energy, someone who is loved. While the phrase is usually associated with music, we tend to use the term as a positive label for anyone who is remarkable, is successful, or has passionate followers.
Take a careful look at that definition. There is nothing abstract about it. When you talk about a performer in this industry, you are talking about a wrestler. When fans buy their tickets, they expect to see wrestling at its finest. They want to see skillful chain wrestling, an impressive ability to scout and counter their opponents, agonizing submission holds, an ability to withstand even the most painful submissions and still find a way to will themselves out of them, and the intellect to tie all of those skills together in one amazing package. I am that package. I am that Intellect. Drive and energy? I have that as well. As someone who doesn't drink, doesn't smoke, doesn't do drugs, and doesn't even eat fast foods, I am very easy to love. Parents can point to me as a potential role model to their children. Men will strive to perfect their strengths as I have to be extraordinary or - dare I say - remarkable. My success will attract passionate followers, fans who are truly passionate about wrestling.
True wrestling is Rock 'n' Roll.
I am its Rock Star.
My opponent, Dazielle, is not a rockstar as it relates to wrestling. With her combination of speed and aerial skill, she more closely resembles a circus performer. That kind of aerial ability could potentially represent the death-defying vision that Marty Sunshine was looking for when he conceptually birthed this championship. However, despite her intelligence, her reckless nature turns her high-flying into sudden and certain death. The sports science team employed by Metro:PRO indicated that she is not physically built to withstand many high-flying moves that miss their mark. Her biography posted on Metro:PRO's website indicates that she has no regard for herself or her body. With that kind of mindset and her fragile physical frame, I must confess that I question their moderately high marks they gave her in intelligence. Recklessness is a contradictory - not complimentary - aspect of intelligence.
Lindsay Lohan was a rockstar that crashed and burned. She was unstable.
Britney Spears was a rockstar that crashed and burned. She was unstable.
The Olsen twins, Heath Ledger (rest his soul), Amanda Bynes, and countless others... They were all unstable.
Dazielle Molaroni is unstable. She will attempt to defy death with her aerial assault. She will crash and burn.
I won't need to climb the cage walls. Even if you miraculously manage to avoid my grasp, you are destined to give this match away. Unstable, aggressive, reckless, and fragile... This match is already over.
And my analysis has only just begun.
